The market
Demand in Benin
Cotonou handles a great deal more rice than Benin itself consumes. Much of it moves on into Niger, Burkina Faso and northern Nigeria, which makes Beninese importers volume buyers with a re-export timetable to keep.
That changes what matters in a supplier. A container that misses its sailing does not simply arrive late — it misses the onward movement too. Schedules here are kept or they are not, and that is what a buyer is really assessing on a first order.

Yes, and it is worth telling us at enquiry stage if that is your model — we will plan milling and booking around your onward dates rather than just our own production calendar.
What packaging does the Benin trade take?
50 kg woven bags are the standard. We also print your own brand on them, which matters if you are selling into markets where your name travels further than ours.
